česky | english 		The test takes place in the shooting range in face of the examination commissioner. Particular shooting range and commissioner are determined by respective police department in advance. The test is divided into two sections - theoretical (written) and practical. First, you must complete the written test. After SUCCESSFUL completion of written test you start the practical part of test. So, if you fail the written exam, you are not allowed to take the practice part. In that case you are allowed to take the exam again after 3 month. If you pass written test but fail practical part, you can take this part again within 2 months.

Theoretical part of exam:
  • test consisting of 30 questions, must be completed in 40 minutes (it really is enough time)
  • 22 law questions for 3 points each, 5 guns and ammo knowledge questions for 2 points each, 3 medical questions for 1 point each
  • there are 487 questions in total. Still, 44 questions are out of the line! If you have standard question numbering, these unused questions are 171-181, 328-340 and 468-487
  • for every license group there is special question selection, but MVCR does not indicate this selection. For example - if you are requesting E license group, you won't be asked for specific, C-group questions (like hunting rifle differentiation etc.)
  • some questions are trivial, others are not. It is useful to study.
Needed points to pass the exam:
  • at least 67 points for license group A
  • at least 71 points for license group B and C
  • at least 74 points for license group D and E
Practical part of exam:

You have to show certain knowledge of gun handling in face of the examination commissioner:
  • correctly estimating the as loaded/unloaded, unloading the gun, field stripping of gun for cleaning, procedure of loading - shooting preparation - shooting - shooting interruption - failure. All these procedures are performed with blank catridge
  • live target shooting
Needed live shooting score and guns used in exam:

License group A:
  • 2 hits of 5 shots from small-bore rifle, 25 meters, 5 minutes
  • 2 hits of 5 shots from gun (pistol), 10 meters, 5 minutes
  • 2 hits of 4 shots from shotgun, 25 meters, 3 minutes
License group B:
  • 4 hits of 5 shots from small-bore rifle, 25 meters, 5 minutes
  • 4 hits of 5 shots from gun (pistol), 10 meters, 5 minutes
  • 3 hits of 4 shots from shotgun, 25 meters, 3 minutes
License group C:
  • 4 hits of 5 shots from small-bore rifle, 25 meters, 5 minutes
  • 3 hits of 4 shots from shotgun, 25 meters, 3 minutes
License group D:
  • 4 hits of 5 shots from gun (pistol), 15 meters, 2 minutes
License group E:
  • 4 hits of 5 shots from gun (pistol), 10 meters, 3 minutes
If you pass the exam successfully, the examination commissioner will provide you with certificate: Doklad o osvědčení odborné způsobilosti žadatele o vydání ZP.
